families wont cut back on broadband

Cutting back on internet expenses is not an option for most families, new research reveals.

The study by O2 found that 67 per cent of families are unlikely to cut back on web access during the recession, highlighting the growing importance of technology in daily life.

The evidence is underscored by the fact that a whopping 3.4 million parents now regularly use social networking sites to keep in contact with their family.

Alistair Johnston, marketing director of Telefonica O2 UK, said: “We strongly believe that technology has a hugely positive role to play in helping families better manage their hectic lives, but also ultimately in being able to spend more time together.”
