phone & broadband for business
Businesses can now record calls made by staff on company-owned mobile phone handsets thanks to a new service that has been launched.
Vodafone Mobile Recording will also enable businesses to log text messages that have been sent and received from the handset, which will help to protect against losses.
Calls on fixed lines have commonly been recorded as part of a company’s regulatory requirements, but the new service represents the first time that this will be extended to mobile calls and texts.
Nick Jeffery, chief executive of Vodafone Global Enterprise, said: "Employees are increasingly using mobile rather than fixed line handsets due to a significant rise in the adoption of flexible working practices.
"Factors such as the travel disruption caused by the volcanic ash have given this trend added momentum as workers stranded in remote locations seek to work to the same high standards of compliance and governance."
The technical complexity of recording mobile calls has led to this process not being carried out in the past.
Sarah Barrow, customer services manager at Wokingham Borough Council, previously highlighted the importance of business phones during times of disruption.
