UK business mobile customers hoping to get their hands on the new BlackBerry handset will not have to wait too much longer.
Following the release of the Torch smartphone in the US earlier this month, it now appears that the device will be available in the UK from October.
The BlackBerry Torch 9800 has been listed on a number of UK online retail websites with a release date of October 1st 2010.
Expansys has the handset listed for £570, although network providers have given no clues as to when it will be available on contract.
The Torch will run on the new BlackBerry OS 6 operating system and will feature a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a five-megapixel camera.
Meanwhile, BlackBerry manufacturer Research in Motion is involved in a dispute with the Indian government over the tracking of messages and emails sent via the handsets.
At present, data is encrypted and sent directly to Canada where the company's servers are located, but Indian officials are pushing for a server to be built in their country for security reasons.
