Business smartphones boost customer relationship management

Business mobile customers often find that smartphones allow them to boost customer relationship management.

This is the view of Heather Mclean, editor and founder of news and analysis website smartgorillas.com, who said the devices enable firms to be available to their customers at all times.

Her comments come after research from Barclays Business revealed that 48 per cent of small businesses are now using smartphones in some capacity and a further nine per cent plan to adopt them this year.

Ms Mclean said smartphones have "revolutionised" the office in many ways, as they give small businesses access to high quality applications on the move.

"Possibly in the future businesses might say that that they don't need as big an office and people can work remotely," she remarked.

However, she claimed there are advances to be made in terms of reliability and durability before smartphones really allow businesses to reduce their office space and take a more virtual approach.
