46% of business phone owners ‘use their mobile for an hour a day’

Nearly half of business phone owners spend at least an hour using the device each day, new research reveals.

A study by handset accessories retailer Purple Gossip found that nearly two thirds will answer a call despite being involved in a face-to-face discussion, while nearly seven tenths engage in discussions while on buses, trains and other forms of public transport.

The spokesperson for the company claims that British business mobile users have a problem with the etiquette surrounding these devices.

"Whilst we have evidently adopted some bad habits over the last decade, the mobile phone is becoming increasingly integral to our daily routine – so much so that we find it hard to detach ourselves from our handsets," the representative states.

Earlier this month, Acer announced that it will be launching ten new mobiles based on the Google Android platform during 2010, highlighting the growth of the smartphone sector, Reuters reports.ADNFCR-2811-ID-19497979-ADNFCR
