phone & broadband for business
Companies wanting to take advantage of a business broadband deal may wish to seek a contact with O2, according to findings from Ofcom.
The UK mobile phone and broadband provided was found by the regulator to be the most likely to inform potential customers of the maximum line that their line can support without being prompted.
It was determined that on 54 per cent of occasions O2 did inform callers, which was far more frequently than other big broadband providers.
BT fared the worst in Ofcom’s findings by telling customers 28 per cent of the time, followed by Sky at 39 per cent.
Overall, 40 per cent of potential customers were told that the speeds were only an estimate and 31 per cent were informed that other factors could also impact the speed received.
Ed Richards, chief executive of Ofcom, previously said: “Consumers are now receiving more accurate information at the point of sale about their broadband service but our mystery shopping research reveals there is still significant further progress to be made, particularly in relation to the checkers used to calculate line speeds.”
The Space Innovation and Growth Strategy recently remarked that broadband speeds could become faster in the future through the support of satellites.
