phone & broadband for business
Business leaders have set out what the next government needs to do in its first 90 days, including plans for faster business broadband.
The British Chambers of Commerce has published a plan for business growth that includes the need to address public finances, employment and health.
On the subject of business broadband, the organisation believes a “radical plan” needs to be delivered to facilitate next-generation services by 2040.
David Frost, director general of the British Chambers of Commerce, explained some of the other areas where the next government needs to take action.
He said: “During the first 90 days after an election, an incoming government must make concrete proposals to reduce red tape and tax burdens on business, review how to move the economy away from an over-reliance on consumption and the public sector and commit to improving Britain’s energy, transport and digital infrastructure.”
Mr Frost also commented that politicians would have to come clean about where cuts in public spending will fall.
IT expert Peter Cochrane recently said that broadband should be considered to be part of the national infrastructure, like roads and railways, because of its importance to the economy.
