Businesses told to think about their broadband needs

A broadband expert has reiterated the point that businesses and other users need to make sure they have the right broadband service for them.

Recent research by Broadband Choices showed that many customers were using an unlimited package that they did not necessarily need, therefore meaning they were paying too much.

While he agrees that some people are confused about broadband, Andrew Ferguson, editor of thinkbroadband.com, a website that provides information on broadband issues, believes that there are other factors such as hidden costs in cheaper packages that should also be considered.

He explained: "Savings can be made by people, but it is easy to over state them, when we see providers reporting that usage is rising year on year."

Figures from Akamai, a web performance management company, recently showed that the average broadband connection in Britain is 3.4Mb, placing it 26th in the world rankings.

XLN provides business broadband solutions for different needs, with a choice between an 8Mb service, with monthly data usage of 20 GB, and a 24Mb service that gives unlimited usage.ADNFCR-2811-ID-19598037-ADNFCR
