Advice on maximising broadband speeds

Broadband users have been given advice on making the most of their connection and increasing their speeds.

A recent survey by Consumer Choice found that a large number of broadband customers are unhappy with their service, with many saying that they were not getting the speeds that were advertised.

However, this may not necessarily be because of the service given by the provider, but as a result of issues at the customer end instead.

Tips from BroadbandChoices.co.uk to maximise connection speeds include repositioning the router so that there are no obstructions to the wireless signal, while upgrading internet browsers could also help.

Furthermore, the site recommends putting password protection on any wireless network so that no one outside the business can access the service and slow it down.
