Published by the Sunday Times, the Tech Track award ranks Britain’s fastest-growing private tech companies, basing the selections on sales growth over the last three years. XLN won their place after achieving an impressive rise in sales by 43% over this period.

XLN Telecom is pleased to announce that they have appointed David Mason to the role of non-executive chairman. As founder of the Mason Group, the UK’s leading independent telecoms consultancy, David is recognised as being a leading entrepreneur and authority in the telecoms industry. In 1999 David sold the Mason Group to Datatec, but remained as the company’s CEO until 2004.

BT has launched a new gadget which promises to improve broadband speed, and give users a more stable connection. The new ‘Interstitial Plate’ (or ‘I-Plate’), which costs just £12 and can be self installed, works by filtering out electrical interference caused by televisions, lighting and home wiring.

Approximately one million workers were set to benefit from a rise in the National Minimum Wage on Tuesday; however a survey has suggested that many businesses are yet to take action. The hourly Minimum Wage has increased by 3.8 per cent, meaning those over 21 will be guaranteed at least £5.73 an hour, up 21p from £5.52...

The European Union have ranked the UK fourth in it’s latest Broadband Ranking Index, which factors speed, price, coverage and competition into the ratings. The UK achieved a high ranking for its competitive market and low prices, but fared less well for speeds and take-up of advanced services, such as online banking and e-commerce.
