How do I activate my SIM/Phone?

You must activate your SIM before you can use it. To activate it you need to:

  • Call 0808 168 6398 and follow the automated instructions carefully.
  • You will need your account number to hand and SIM phone number which is shown on the back of the SIM pack or on the side of the Mobile Broadband dongle pack.
  • After activation switch your phone off and wait for about 60 minutes for your phone to register on the network.
  • Insert your SIM and then switch your phone on – it will now show XLN UK as the network and this confirms that you are up and running.
  • If you have asked us to transfer your existing number and provided us with a PAC code, we will contact your current provider. Please note that we cannot transfer any number that has already been disconnected.

What is SIM only?

SIM only allows you to join a network simply by changing your SIM card rather than changing your phone.

As we're not subsidising the cost of a new phone over the term of a 12 or 24 month contract we can put all the value into your calls, texts and browsing. How do I keep my Mobile number (requesting PAC code)?

Transferring your existing number to your XLN Mobile takes about 2 working days. During this time, use up any airtime credits you have with your current network. You can start using your XLN Mobile SIM card to make and receive calls using the temporary number.

Your mobile or SIM card comes with its own number printed on the back of the SIM pack, but you can still use your old number.

Just follow these steps:
Contact your existing network and ask for a PAC code (Port Authorisation Code).
Once you have your PAC code give us a call at Customer Service on 0844 880 9000. It is only valid for 30 days, so please call before it expires.
We'll then transfer your existing number to XLN Mobile.

What is XLN Mobile Broadband and how does it work?

Mobile Broadband is provided as a small USB dongle which has a SIM card within it. When the dongle software is installed on your computer, it will allow you to connect to our 3G network Anytime, Anywhere wirelessly. This means that when on those business trips, you can still keep up to date with emails and meetings.
